• Ensure that your child gets all vaccinations so that cold does not develop into bacterial infection.
• The habit of washing hands plays an important role in preventing cold. Teach your kids to wash hands after sneezing, coughing and touching face. You must also wash your hands before coming close to your child if you have cold.
• Keep your house clean and use a household cleaner like phenol to kill the viral infection.
• Teach your child to cover his mouth with a handkerchief if he or she has cold.
