How to stay healthy while travelling?

Traveling on a regular basis can be fun, but it gets tiring. It can also really knock you down. One of the biggest problems for people who travel often is that they get sick often as well. If you or someone in your office is traveling a lot, try following these tips and help them stay healthy and strong:

  • Drink ample water –Water is needed for intra-cellular activities in our body and it keeps our skin hydrated. Less consumption of water will lead to dehydration of our body; furthermore we need water for the formation of urine, which is the body’s way of flushing out toxins. Carry a slightly heavy water bottle with you, as its weight will serve as a constant reminder to you for drinking water while travelling!
  • Wear Comfortable shoes- Travelling involves a lot of use of the feet, and if your feet aren’t comfortable, travelling can become quite stressful. Women are always found walking around in pencil heels, it would be a good idea to discard these and opt for flats or canvas sandals. Uncomfortable shoes can also cause a number of painful conditions in your feet such as Achilles tendon, corns, calluses, athlete’s foot etc.
  • Remember that sunscreen – Since the summer season is upon us, it is necessary to bring out those sunscreens, caps and sunglasses to protect our skin and eyes from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Carry an umbrella if need be, to avoid the direct rays of the sun while travelling especially if you going to be on foot during the day.
  • Stretch those muscles –Stiff muscles mean that the particular muscle is not receiving oxygen and blood properly, this condition usually affects the airborne traveler a lot, and the best way to deal with this is to get up and stretch or walk about for a short while. Even those travelling in a train or a bus for a long period of time have to stretch those stiff muscles, as a failure to do so might result in blood clotting up, which can lead to fatal consequences in the longer run!
